I wanted to do mosaic wings on this one and let the wings be the main focus.  Those inlays are bronze set in sterling silver.  It took seemingly forever to cut and file the spaces for those mosaic inlays just right.  When soldering them in place, I didn't want to see any gaps or thick solder lines.  And I succeeded, but it was super labor-intensive.
 
The body is a cultured black opal that has a ton of fire and flash in the right light.  I added the spikes to give it a slightly rocked up feel.  Double-layer construction.
